Hooray! Instagram started testing the long-awaited video rewind function for 60 seconds long videos. Instagram has already implemented this feature in IGTV, but this feature never got to feed videos.
Technical blogger Jane Manchun Wong (Hong Kong, Asia), known for revealing yet unreleased features in applications and on websites (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Google etc.), showed on her twitter channel how this function will look like. At the same time, there is no official comment’s from representatives of Instagram on this issue.

As we know, many users lack the ability to rewind the video, as now, in order to see a certain part of the video, you need to restart the video and start watching from the beginning. Besides the fact that the user has to spend extra time on it, it is also mildly annoying. It remains unclear why Instagram has not previously implemented a feature that is standard for most modern video players.

It is not yet known whether this function will appear in the near future and whether it will appear at all. We hope that this is just a matter of time. We will follow the news and inform you when more information appears.
